Endometriosis Australia is a nationally accredited charity that increases awareness about Endometriosis in Australia, provides education and funds Endometriosis research.
From 2014-18 I worked with CEO Donna Ciccia to build, shape and market the Endometriosis Australia brand. Over this period a large range of projects were covered including typographic poetry awareness campaigns, online merchandise products, re-design of all clinical collateral, branding of fundraising events like Luminosity, March Into Yellow and Worldwide Endo March.
Endo March 2018 Fundraising Campaign
Project: Design campaign for enticing people to host an Endo March High Tea fundraiser in their homes or at work.
Social Media Formats
• Led design concept creation and pitched idea to CEO Donna Ciccia
• Wrote photography brief including mechanics for the animated GIF, styling, shot list, props and talent requirements
• Sourced and engaged photographer, finessed brief requirements further
• Design of all online and offline collateral including downloadable files for printing out at home/office.
The success of these events attracted Australian celebrity ambassadors for media events like Mel Greig and played a part in the resulting National Action Plan for Endometriosis – the first ever blueprint seeking to improve diagnosis and treatment.
Endo March 2018 High Tea Events
Project: Led design concept for Endo March 2018 High Tea Events campaign. Wrote photography brief, including styling and shot list. Design and artwork for all online and offline collateral.
March Into Yellow
“March into Yellow” is a campaign to raise awareness and show support for women living with Endometriosis. March is globally recognised as Endometriosis month, so for the month of March participants can to choose to wear something yellow for a day, a week or the whole month, post about it and start a conversation…
Project: The charity needed a logo design, newspaper adverts and social media files to help promote their event.
Luminosity Yoga Event
Luminosity is a vibrant, fun two hour Yogathon aired on Channel 10, to raise awareness and funds into research of Endometriosis. Open to all levels from beginners to experienced.
Project: To design event promotional graphics for the Luminosity website, social media platforms and supply of downloadable A4 printable posters.
Project: To graphically interpret seven poems written by Fiona Stevens about living with Endometriosis. The artworks are to be used across merchandise and social media to help inform the medical community, business, media and the public about Endometriosis and to generate funds for the charity.
After the successful response from the 2015 poems Fiona Stevens was asked to write more about living with Endometriosis. My brief was to graphically interpret them for use across merchandise and social media to help inform the public about Endometriosis and to generate interest and funds for the charity.
Concept: The poems need to speak individually and together. They vary in length, some very short others quiet long and as Endometriosis Australia is a charity there’s no budget for use of stock photography. The brand palette, imagery and typography must be adhered to.
Poetry offers up ideas of scribbled, expressive, thoughtful and heart felt text, notes or letters – pen and ink, a hand busily writing. The poems speak of medical issues, research funding, frustration, sadness and suffering… To help deliver the poems messages an expressive script font was sort and a hand graphic was introduced – a surgeons hand, a generous hand, a giving hand, a loving hand, a donating hand. Hands can symbolise strength, power, protection, generosity, stability, friendship, healing etc. Using their gestures, expressions and symbolism graphically strengthens the poems message. It’s also a thematic that can continue to work for future poems…
